Podcast Publishing

At this point, your podcast should be all coming together. The recording is finished, the editing is done, and right now you are saving up episodes in preparation for the launch. It is now time to talk about how you publish your podcast episodes.

Select podcast hosting company

You have to find a place to host your podcast episode files online. The easiest and most effective way to do this is through a podcast hosting providers. Podcast hosting providers give you the tools necessary to upload and share your episodes. A good provider will make it easy to list yourself on Apple Podcasts (iTunes) and Google Podcasts and provide a way to do so, either automatically or with detailed documentation about the process. Here is a list of the podcast hosting providers we suggest in no particular order:

There are many other hosting providers than those listed above. If you wish to explore other options, search Google for the phrase “Podcast Hosting”. Google should provide results featuring those listed above allow with many others.

Uploading and publishing podcast episodes

Once you have selected a podcast hosting provider, follow their documentation on how to set up your account and add your episodes.

Apple Podcasts and Google Podcasts

All hosting providers will supply an RSS feed to be shared with Apple Podcasts (iTunes) and Google Podcasts (GooglePlay). Being that most listeners with use a mobile device to listen to your podcast, it is important that your are listed under both services. As mentioned earlier, a good hosting provider will make it easy to list yourself on Apple Google Podcasts and provide a way to do so automatically or with detailed documentation about the process.

Once you have your RSS feed available, feel free to add your podcast to our podcast directory. The more your podcast is listed on the web, the more likely you will be seen. Work hard, be consistent with your recording schedule, stay on time with episode releases and start to gain listeners and you will also have the opportunity to submit an application to become part of the PodBelly Network.
