  • 032 - NIKKI BRUMEN (PAGAN)
    June 11th, 2019

NIKKI BRUMEN is a name that is going to be around for A LONG time! She fronts one of Australia's most hyped (and for great reason) bands - PAGAN. She's Charismatic, Smart, Passionate and most of all - a fantastic human.

I got to sit down with her before Pagan played at a local bar, right before they headed off on their 2nd trip to Europe in 6 months - to talk about (amongst other things) a very overlooked subject in todays heavy music scene - Women, and their under representation.

Have a listen to Nikki's story, about her outsider from birth beginnings - to how she's owned it - and turned it into something that younger musicians and creative types can aspire to today.

I got to sit down with him before Death By Stereo played at the Hamilton Station Hotel in Newcastle... The bad news, this episode got cut short because Death By Stereo were seconds away from walking onstage... the GOOD news? We're going to record Pt2 at Punk Rock Bowling in Las Vegas at the end of May, so keep an eye out for that one!!

  • 2018 Podcast Shout Outs
    December 27th, 2018

I do a lot of driving, and listen to a lot of Podcasts... some i'll only dive into, when i know the guest or care about the subject - and some i will listen to religiously, without fail. On this episode - i wanted to give a should out to a bunch of DIY (as in, not got huge companies backing them or sponsoring them) Podcast's which i figure a lot of people who listen to this, will dig. If you're into what you hear - they're all on the Podcast app on Apple devices, and i'm sure they're across a bunch of other apps on android devices as well. Check them out, tell a friend (or 8) and support great FREE content.

  • Best of 2018 Pt1
    December 6th, 2018
So - this year I got re-stoked on new music. With thanks to the High Fives Podcast, the Anxious and Angry podcast and the Axe to Grind Podcast - I discovered heaps of rad jams!!   So, as ‘something special’ - I made 3 ‘best of 2018’ lists, and I’ll have an episode each week as like a playlist of albums I dug this year. 39 songs, 3 categories - Punk, Hardcore and ‘other’ - and this week, I’m doing the top 13 that fall into the ‘other’ category.   I hope you dig it.   Support bands, support live music, buy music, buy merch, get involved.   **** any bands that don’t want to be included in the list, please contact me and I’ll take it down. No ill intent/bad vibes. Nothing but love and appreciation.
  • 027 - Dave Immerz (Last Nerve // Bad Blood // Vigilante)
    November 29th, 2018

027 - DAVE IMMERZ (LAST NERVE // BAD BLOOD // VIGILANTE)

In my opinion, Dave changed the game for Australian hardcore - at a time when 'the scene' seemed to be full of division and segregation - Dave's first band - Last Nerve - seemed to win over people from all facets of Australian Hardcore, and paved the way for a lot of younger bands to have a crack at something new and fun.

It took me a while for the planets to align to get this episode recorded - but it was so worth the wait, and i hope you enjoy it!

So - Think this episode is worth $1 (or maybe more?!?)

    October 25th, 2018

MARK MOLDRE doesn't fall under the usual umbrella of guests i gave on the podcast, but his story is as fantastic as his guitar playing and song writing abilities - captivating yet calming - like watching the fire place on a cold winters night, with a big glass of gin.

You can find Mark at the following spots: https://markmoldre.com https://markmoldre.bandcamp.com https://www.facebook.com/markmoldreofficial/   And as mentioned in the episode, the France Tour Diary: https://doubtfulsounds.net/2018/08/17/tour-diary-mark-moldre/ also - Think this episode is worth $1?go to www.paypal.me/myagepodcast and support the cause!
